COVID Protection at a Farmer's Market

  • May 8, 2020

As the nation begins to open back up, outdoor events such as Farmer's Markets will be among the first to welcome customers. Whether you are running a market or are there as a vendor, there are a bunch of ways to keep yourself and your customers safe when getting back to business! Here is what we see should be the 'new normal' at your farmer's market:

·      Sanitizing stations at all entrances

·      Wipes/sanitizer at all booths

·      Shields near checkout area

Sell / Give Away bags to avoid contact

If customers don't bring their own bags, have some on hand for purchase or to give away. If you put your brand and an inspiring message on a great bag, it will be used for many markets to come! We love this brand-able mesh bag with the solid bottom

Mandatory masks?

If masks will be mandatory (which they likely will) be sure to sell at entrances or in booths for those who don’t have them. These also make a great giveaway for any vendor that wants to get their name out there!

Stickers/buttons reminders

A low cost and effective way to remind people about social distancing! 6 Feet Please!

Wellness Signage

The more you can remind people to wash up, keep their distance, and to follow other health protocols, the better (especially when they are distracted by the smell of roasted pecans)! Flags, Banners, Tent Walls, even t-shirts, will all help with this!

Sneeze Guard / Barriers

You may already see these in grocery stores, but what about the check-out at your booth? Protect yourself and your customers with an acrylic plexiglass sneeze guard. A small investment for a lot of protection!

Sanitizer!

Touch-free sanitizer dispensers stationed all over the market are key! You could also hand out sanitizer with your logo on it at your booth, or even sell it for a little extra profit!

Whether you are running a market or participating in one, be prepared to keep your space healthy and safe for all who enter!
