Trade Show Design Elements to Take Away from Award Winning Booths
Trade show design is a lot more intricate than it looks, with every detail having to be analyzed prior to ordering. The design is so important, in fact, that there are awards given to companies that exceed trade show expectations!
We are going to show you some displays that have won awards in the past and tell you what design elements to take away from them.
Most of these companies had budgets between $35,000 and $250,000. eXpo Branders can consult on trade show ideas with you no matter how small or large your budget. We hope these design elements will get your creativity flowing!
1. Implement Geometric Hanging Structures and Product Showcases
This Italian tile company needed a way to effectively use their tradeshow space to display a mere 10 title samples. By creating an educational seminar space surrounded by wooden cubes and fabric hanging structures, they were able to create an immersive, attractive display on a budget of only $65,000.
2. Make Use of Social Media
Scion got the attention of judges by creating an interactive display where people could use Instagram to receive a promotional award. Several vending machines with display monitors would give the attendees instructions on what to do, and if these instructions were followed the machine would dispense promotional swag! This activity cost $100,000, but the impressions they received on social media were priceless. Implement this idea using a display monitor or sign to promote a social media hashtag and reward the users who do so!
3. Interactive Promotional Products
Using less than $40,000, Derse Inc. grabbed the attention of the attendees prior to the show by writing letters telling them to stop by for a gift and a good conversation about the future. When the attendee showed up, they were happy to find a small glass bottle with their name on it and a note of encouragement that asked them to jot down their goals on a large blackboard. This personal touch made a strong impact because it didn’t just shove a product in their face, it encouraged conversation! You could implement an idea like this by adding dry-erase adhesives and encouraging attendees to express themselves with a prompt!

4. Let Your Attendees Get Comfortable
Derse Inc. impressed again at another trade show by taking the comfort of their attendees into consideration. Their goal was to create a tranquil retreat among a hectic convention center where attendees could take some time to relax on the comfortable couches and soak in the brand’s message on smooth, LED interior walls. This booth cost a little more than the previously shown booth, but you could implement the soothing aspect by simply adding soft lights, seating, and small monitor displays to show videos.
5. Use Fabric Displays (And Save Money)
Autodesk Inc. needed to make a beautiful display on a tight budget of only $35,000. The perfect solution? Fabric displays. The soft, malleable material does not reflect glare from the lighting, looks professional, and is much cheaper than installing plastic or wood. Designers placed graphic pillars with messages and logos printed on them in a systematic design that let attendees flow through. eXpo Branders offers many zip-up fabric displays that can be used in similar ways.
